Our Story
The Conflict Ledger emerged from a simple observation: in our hyperconnected world, wars are fought as much with narratives as with weapons. Every conflict generates competing stories, each designed to shape perception, justify action, and mobilize support.
We recognized that traditional conflict reporting, while essential, often missed the meta-story—how the conflict itself was being framed, reframed, and weaponized across different media landscapes. This gap became particularly evident when covering African conflicts, where Western media narratives often overshadowed local voices and perspectives.
Our mission is to document this digital battlefield of perception, propaganda, and power. We collaborate with journalists, researchers, artists, and AI tools to create a living archive of how conflicts are narrated, manipulated, and understood in real-time.
“Because in the information war, curiosity is the best defense.”
