Purpose: To evaluate the narrative framing of AI-generated voices in Google’s NotebookLM
and identify design gaps that impact trust, credibility, and resonance, particularly in African
and feminist newsrooms. The goal is to ensure that tools like NotebookLM are fit for
purpose: capable of supporting high-impact, culturally grounded, and emotionally intelligent
storytelling that reflects the values and expectations of the communities they serve, making
uptake more seamless.
